ABOUT ME
I am a freshwater community ecologist who studies how algae and other aquatic life respond to environmental change, including nutrient pollution, land-use change, and invasive species. I use a combination of field studies, experiments, and statistical modeling to understand long-term ecological dynamics in aquatic systems. My research aims to advance our understanding of freshwater ecosystems while generating science that informs conservation and management.
I am currently a Research Assistant Professor at Florida International University, where I focus on wetland ecosystems in the Florida Everglades. I also conduct research in forested stream ecosystems, including those in the southern Appalachian Mountains.
